It is our mantra that the design of your home is personal, and should tell the story of those who inhabit it, not us as designers and decorators – we are merely the storytellers, not the story. This is why we make it our mission to get to know our clients on a personal level in order to produce the best possible outcome – one that reaches beyond the expected. 

At Rousseau’s, we assist you from start to finish in the reimagining of your space – from first concepts to final touches.

Essential ($400 + HST)

  • 2 hour in home consultation for 1-2 adjacent rooms
  • To scale floor plan(s) with 2 layouts
  • Follow up presentation in our showroom with material and furniture selections
  • Includes furniture, rugs, window treatments, wallpaper, lighting, artwork, paint colours

Deluxe ($600 + HST)

  • Includes everything in the Essential package
  • PLUS: personalized in home styling and accessorizing services upon delivery – all of the “finishing touches” that really make a space shine!

Other:

  • Paint Consultation: $175/hr
  • Online (Zoom) Consultation: $175/hr
  • Window Treatment Consultation: $200/hr
  • Reupholstery Consultation: Complementary!

We offer a selection of in home design and decorating consultations.

Whether you need a full room refresh, a paint/wallpaper selection, or a window treatment consultation - we would love to help you bring your home to life. 

If just a few pieces of custom order furniture, artwork, or accessories is what you are after - we would be happy to help you with this process in store. 

Our decorating services are only offered in home (exceptions can be made for remote work) so we can provide you with our best quality of work for your project. We feel that being in your home gives us the best sense of the space, flow of the home, and of you as our client.

Our general process is composed of several stages: 

  1. In Home Consultation (walk through, site measure & photos taken, visions for the space discussed) 
  2. Research & Development Phase (back in our showroom, we curate a selection of furniture models, materials, and finishes for your unique project as well as draw your space(s) to scale and create a visual design concept for your home)
  3. In Store Follow Up (we present to your our  selections along side hand drawn floor plans and concept sketches - you are sent home with  fabric and finish samples to visualize in your own space)
  4. Decision Making (we keep in touch and help you navigate the process of making final selections) 
  5. Order Management (orders are placed with our various suppliers and you are notified of the expected delivery dates for each item - we handle all of the shipping, receiving and storage of pieces until your order has arrived in full)
  6. Delivery & Install (our talented delivery team will place your furniture as specified on the floor plan, install window treatments, and hang artwork) 

If you aren't sure if you need a home decoration consultation... you probably do! 

Our in store services are limited to clients who only need assistance with a few simple decisions - such as choosing a fabric for their new sofa alongside a rug or accent chair. 

This is to ensure that we are giving you our best possible advice when it comes to colour palette, layout, proportion, flow etc. All of these elements are best analyzed in the home whenever possible. 

We are able to work within a variety of budgets, but it really depends on the scope of your wish list, your specific requirements, and of course personal taste. 

If you are able to provide us with an estimated budget  alongside a prioritized wish list, we can advise you on which aspects of the project are realistic within those numbers. 

We are located in Whitby so naturally serve the entire Durham Region. However, we regularly also do work in Toronto, GTA, Northumberland, and cottage country such as Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton. 

We have even done remote work in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and Florida. 

These days anything is possible!
