For anyone not familiar with Rousseau’s, have been in business in Whitby, Ontario since 1929. What began as a humble antique and French polishing business founded by Louis Rousseau has now grown into a destination boutique design shop run by 3rd generation Peggy Polson-Gillis and 4th generation Alex Gillis.
We have proudly carried many Canadian furniture brands for decades and continue to support our local manufacturers whenever possible. Below are a few of our favourite local brands who produce 100% of their goods in Ontario or Quebec, and of mostly Canadian domestic.
West Bros.
West Bros. Furniture, located in Ontario, Canada, has been producing meticulously crafted high quality, sustainable solid wood furniture in North America for over two decades.
The company remains family-owned and operated, serving over 200 furniture retailers worldwide. West Bros is also a member and “Silver Exemplary Status” award winner of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, the furniture industry’s leading coalition of manufacturers, retailers and consumers who promote sustainable practices. The company’s product line includes bedroom, dining room, workspace and occasional pieces for the residential and commercial markets.




Vogel by Chervin
In 1965, Bernie and Gloria Vogel founded Vogel Chair in Toronto, Ontario. It was their dream to create the finest handcrafted upholstered chairs that would stand the test of time and exceed the most refined tastes. The company flourished and evolved into Vogel of Canada Ltd. after which, at the request of their loyal customers, Vogel expanded to include top-quality sofas. In July, 2016, the Chervin group of companies purchased Vogel Chair and renamed it Vogel by Chervin.




Campio Furniture
Campio Furniture Limited is proud to celebrate its 40th Anniversary. Since 1982, Campio Furniture has been a leader in the Canadian furniture manufacturing industry building quality and comfort in upholstered furnishings.
From humble beginnings, President Vito Servello founded Campio Furniture Limited in 1982 after many years of working as a cutter and upholsterer in the upholstery manufacturing sector. The company began operating out of a small facility and over the years has grown to become a reputable name in the industry which now employs over 100 people.

Canadel is a family-owned company. They believe in manufacturing products that are hand-assembled and hand-finished following the highest quality standards in the industry, according to environmentally-friendly processes. Durham Furniture
Durham Furniture has been making solid wood furniture of the highest quality and enduring value since 1899. Our proud legacy of quality, integrity and dependability places us among North America’s premier manufacturers of fine furniture.
All of their furniture is made from sustainably harvested solid wood at their plant in the Town of Durham, Ontario, Canada. Durham (population 2,500) is nestled amid rolling hills, forests and farms, along the Saugeen River about 150 kilometres (93 miles) north of Toronto.
Durham Furniture employs more than 150 craftspeople who work in our century-old red-brick factory. We are a tightly knit family – spanning multiple generations – dedicated to making fine furniture in an environmentally sustainable and ethical way.

Brentwood Classics is a family owned and operated business that has been designing and manufacturing custom Canadian bench-made sofas for over 45 years. Established in 1983 as Celadon Imports, they started as an importer of giftware before transitioning to manufacturing framed prints and mirrors. They developed a unique style of creative framing and continued to evolve.
